Projects Coordinator
Location: Remote, with some in-person meetings.
Hours per week (average): 40 hrs.

Position Summary
The Housing Narrative Lab is reshaping the public debate and narrative around homelessness through cutting edge research, education and training and capacity-building communications. We are looking for a team member who can operate as our lead traffic controller – managing and coordinating teams, people and systems to keep projects on track. We are looking for a project coordinator who will oversee the Lab’s operations and the smooth running of our projects. The coordinator will manage and support our internal infrastructure and systems. The coordinator has responsibility for the day-to-day relationship with the organization’s fiscal sponsor New Venture Fund (NVF), and ensures smooth operation of administrative, HR, financial and technology systems. The coordinator will support research and implementation of processes, policies, and technologies that support our work as we grow. The coordinator will also oversee and support the administration of the Lab’s projects. Our coordinator is a highly organized individual as adept at managing contracts as they are organizing and managing convenings, webinars and other events. Please note: While this position has administrative duties, the person in this position is in charge of keeping the Lab’s operations and its projects running smoothly, managing its processes and systems.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Accountable for accounts payable process and contract execution process, holding a direct relationship with our fiscal sponsor’s account team and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Serve as liaison between our fiscal sponsor, vendors and the Lab to ensure smooth communications and coordination.
- Accountable for creating (when necessary), communicating and promoting adoption of policies and procedures
- Responsible for managing the Lab’s internal processes, such as coordinating recruiting, hiring, and onboarding under the guidance of the Lab’s management team.
- Accountable for development and administration of agile project management processes, including the Lab’s content management system and CRM.
- Organize, coordinate and manage advisory board and committee meetings, retreats, convenings, webinars and other Housing Narrative Lab events.
- Manage and coordinate team projects, including scheduling, drafting documents and ensuring participants meet deadlines for deliverables.
- Manage executive director’s schedule and travel.
- Research and write reports, presentations, training and other communications documents.
- Monitor news and other sources to identify local and statewide homeless and housing justice campaigns.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize changing workloads and juggle competing priorities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Exceptionally organized and ability to organize others.
- Clear, consistent, and concise oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and interpret and fulfill responsibilities without intensive supervision (after training) including ability to anticipate problems and work toward solutions independently
- Desire to ask questions when not clear on directions, and courage to suggest change where possible
- Excellent computer skills – Word, Excel and PowerPoint required in addition to Asana, Box, Concur, Salesforce or similar CR or project management software.

Valued and Non-Essential Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- A background working on housing or social justice issues is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a communications, narrative, grassroots or non profit organization.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $50,000-$65,000, plus generous benefits. Comprehensive benefits package includes employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance, 3% automatic contribution and a 3% match on 401k contributions, pre-tax transportation benefits, and paid holidays, four weeks vacation, sick, and volunteer time off.
